The room confirmed what we already knew: this connectivity is inevitable.

On April 16, 2026 — alongside the IMF/World Bank Spring Meetings — more than 62 leaders came together in Washington, DC for 6Africa's inaugural Capital Mobilization Roundtable. The room included diaspora investors, African government officials, asset managers deploying capital across the continent, Chamber of Commerce leaders, policy advisors, and ecosystem builders from across the US, Africa, Canada, and beyond.

What emerged was not a theoretical conversation. It was a working session — grounded in the reality that Africa is investable, that the success stories exist, that the capital is already moving. The missing piece is not motivation or money. It is the infrastructure to connect them: vetted opportunities, shared intelligence, trusted pipelines, and the plumbing to make the flow consistent and transparent.

As one participant put it: "If there was plumbing in place, it would change the game." That is what we are building.

The conversation surfaced three consistent themes across every voice in the room — from veteran private equity players to first-generation entrepreneurs, from government officials to diaspora community organizers:

Theme One
Africa is performing
Ghana: 151%. Kenya: 49%. Nigeria: 59%. South Africa: 56%. The data is there — it is just not organized for diaspora investors to act on.
Theme Two
The bottleneck is coordination
Billions flow annually. High-net-worth individuals are investing regardless of formal platforms. The gap is information, structure, and trust — not capital.
Theme Three
No single actor can do this alone
The ecosystem works when the researchers, conveners, fund managers, technologists, and community organizers are working from the same intelligence and toward the same goal.

The roundtable was a beginning, not a conclusion. The conversations that started in that room are continuing — and the platform being built will carry them forward. If you were there, you know what we are building and why. If you were not, there is still time to be part of what comes next.
